SIMMS Inventory Software Version 2013 Vol1.1 has been released

KCSI today is pleased to announce the release of SIMMS Inventory Software 2013 Vol 1.11, a widely anticipated update to its popular Inventory Software Application

SIMMS Software turns your computer into an advanced inventory management and accounting software tool, giving you the ability to setup inventory items, transfer your inventory from location to location, complete sales and purchasing transactions, track serial numbers with manufacturer lot control, expiration date management, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Order Fulfillment and Replenishment, Order Picking, Remote Data collection, Barcode printing and more.

Accounting Enhancements

Case# 6971 – SIMMS Is now Compatible and authorized with the Global Payments credit card payment gateway, giving you the ability to use there Credit card / debit card machines directly with SIMMS AR, POS and the Quick payment screen, for more information on how to sign on with Global payments systems please contact Mychael Dunn from Global Payments 1-800.361.8170 Ex. 76066

Case# 6812 – We have added Recurring Transactions to SIMMS for more information refer to the 6812.pdf document attached to this knowledgebase article.

Apparel Enhancements

Case# 7098 – SIMMS Online is now a powerful mobile apparel industry software solution, we have added apparel Style, color, size selection features. 

Case# 7007 - ALL apparel reports we have added TWO more sizes per each range (10 fields)

Case# 7013 – We have enhanced the Quick Stock Window by adding a print grid button that prints the grid just like it is displayed including apparel style, size and color information

We have also added a column "Quantity Need" to the quick stock window it will display a value only when BO-PO>0, otherwise it will display ZERO in order to display the difference between the "back order" Quantities and the "purchase order" Quantities. 

Barcode Printing Enhancements

Case# 7035 – We have added a new label called Receipt Barcode Label (4\" X 1\"), this label displays the following info: Item Code / Unit of Measure/ Item Description / UDF 1 from the Item Manager ( “kit stock number”) / Location / Quantity / Cost / Lot #/ Expiration Date / Line Comments (Extended Description)

E-store Enhancements

Case# 6910 – We have added field in the item manager, prices tab called “Web Price”, so you can enter a specific web price in the item manager to be used as the default price for an item in the e-store until the customer logs in, then the customer will see there assigned pricing.

Note if there is NO Web price in the item manager then the default displayed in the estore will be the standard price. 

We have also added a company name field to the customer registration form in the Estore.

General Enhancements

Case# 7028 – the first and last name in the User Manager are now switched so the first name comes first and the last name comes after.

Case# 6996 – we have added an option called "current sessions" in the admin panel that shows all the current SIMMS sessions. We have also added user rights / permissions related to this feature.

Case# 6956 – We have fixed an issue where the system would report transactions locked error if you created a sales order, left it in draft mode then Created an invoice for the same customer but different item.

Case# 6681 – We have made the e-mail and web fields larger in the contact manager.

Case# 6657 – We have added last/pref vendor (assigned vendor, VPN vendor) to the advanced item search.

Item Fulfillment Enhancements

Case# 6634 – We have added Kit build queue to the fulfillment module so now for items you manufacture / build that are required in item fulfillment you can now cherry pick the buildable items in the list and indicate build quantity and then add to kit build queue from the fulfillment manager, we have also added a new column indicating the quantity currently in kit build queue just so the user can see.

Item Management Enhancements

Case# 7008 – We have added In the Item Manager Document tab, the ability to add/edit/delete hyperlinks (web addresses) per the following image:

 

Item Replenishment Enhancements

Case# 6634 – We have added Kit build queue to the replenishment module so now for items you manufacture / build that are required in item replenishment you can now cherry pick the buildable items in the list and indicate build quantity and then add to kit build queue from the replenishment manager, we have also added a new column indicating the quantity currently in kit build queue just so the user can see.

Item Transfer Manager Enhancements

Case# 6989 – When transferring items, after the user selects an item, the system checks the stock table and If the stock has JUST one row where on-hand>0, the system automatically populates the initial location, manufacturer lot and exp. date from stock. Or Else, system works as it does now.

Kitting (BOM) Enhancements

Case# 6970 – In order to protect the user from costing related issues when kitting, the system now protects the user from inserting components with zero costs by warning the user by way of an alert when user clicks on the commit button (if components (stock items) are inserted with ZERO cost).

Case# 6814 – Auto Allocation enhancement made in KITTING, we have added a new option from where user can exclude locations from kit component auto-allocate In kit building, when user click on “Automatic Allocation” a new window pops up from where user can choose the bin and/or specific locations they wish to use in auto allocating. Case# 6572 – We have added the ability to attach documents to kit schemas, for more information refer to the 6572.pdf document attached to this knowledgebase article

Kit Project Management Enhancements

Case# 7090 – We have made a Project Management reporting change: before if you didn’t have permission to see user rates then you couldn’t run the project management cost report, we have changed the report so if you don't have permission to see the rates you can still run the report but the user labour rates will NOT show on the report if the user should want to run it. 

Reporting Enhancements

Case# 7051 – we have fixed some stock display discrepancy reporting issues found between the quick stock window and the item trace report

Case# 6952 – we have fixed an issue where when printing the results from the advance search it was not printing all of the results in the grid.

Case# 6951 – We have fixed an issue where the sales report wasn’t reporting any information.

Case#6940 – We have enhanced the Reorder Point Report, to be sorted by the item code and report the minimum stock level requirement.

Serial Management Enhancements

Case# 7085 – We have added a space to record serial numbers for serialized items on the SO pick sheet, If an item on a sales order is serialized, the system will detect this and add a space to record the serial number. The number of lines to record the serial numbers will equal the quantity of the item to be picked. So if the quantity of a serialized item to be picked is two, then two lines are added to record the serial numbers. 

Case# 7056, 7017, 6986, 6966, 6963, 6958, 6950, 6943 – NOTICE! We have enhanced Serial number management in several areas in SIMMS but primarily in Kitting, Service and Returns and Item transfers in order to address areas in the system where users can create serial number / user serial number issues.

Case#7048 - We have fixed a serial number related hole in kit building where users when allocating serial numbers to components had the "freedom" to change existing serial numbers or add new ones, allocate and commit, this caused an issue where there was a serial number item miss match in the system, we have closed this loop hole, so now you can’t modify serial numbers in kit building.

Service & Returns Enhancements

Case# 7098 – We have fixed an issue where if you created an RMAIN with serial numbers, then created an RMAOUT, the serial number wasn’t listed in the Serial Number Manager. Now the serial number is listed and automatically selected.

Case# 7097 – We have modified the Fix and Destroy screen disabling the ability to add a new serial number, instead you are now able to filter the list of serial numbers by typing the serial number you want.

Case# 7038 – We have fixed an issue where if you generated a PO from the RFQ and then open that PO to view the total didn’t show until you opened the PO and then saved it.

Case# 6973 – In the Inventory Return Window we have changed the default flag to be “This is a defective Item”

Case# 6972 - In the Fix and Destroy window, when you scan or select a serial number and the item is already associated with an RMA number then that RMA number automatically appears in the RMA list and the list is greyed out so it cannot be changed.

Case# 6967 – We have made it so you can add only one RMAIN to an RMA from the inventory return window in order to make it consistent with the Service and Returns Manager.

SIMMS Online Enhancements

Case# 7098 – We have added a new skin to SIMMS Online, we have also added the ability for users to set several skinning related settings themselves such as background colors, logo’s, grid colors and types etc.

Case# 6777 – we have added the UPC field to SIMMS Online in order to utilize barcode scanners with the new web application.

Case# 7008 – We have added a link to view images for each item in the inventory list. When a user clicks the link, the item's image (as entered in the Item Manager) appears in a new window.

We have also added a link to view a list of documents (web addresses) for each item in the inventory list, when a user clicks the link a list of the documents (as entered in the Item Manager) appears in a new window, the user can then click the document link (or web address) to view the document or web page.

Case# 6733 – We have added the sales order picking module to the SIMMS Online application for more information refer to 6733.pdf attached to the knowledge base article.

Time and Attendance Module

Case# 6938 – Time and Attendance has been added as a module to the SIMMS Online web application delivering an easy remote way for your staff to clock in and out of there shifts, making easy work of the tedious tasks involved with monitoring employee time and attendance. Our simplified time-tracking software helps you control labour costs, minimize compliance risk, and improve workforce productivity … without breaking a sweat. refer to 6938.pdf attached to this knowledge base article for more information.

Visual Import Manager Enhancements

Case# 7025 – We have fixed an issue found where attempts to import serial numbers would not work.

Case# 7009 – We have Enhanced the VIM to import stock value 


IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • If you use external transaction reports, YOU WILL have to re-export and apply your changes due to database changes made to the transaction tables in this version.
  • To upgrade or install SIMMS 2013, proceed to http://setup.kcsi.ca 
  • Make sure you backup your SIMMS database prior to upgrading
  • Consider scheduling a short training session;


SIMMS Version 2013 is easier to use, with the enhancement and addition of many features to make your SIMMS experience quicker, more detailed and more accurate.
