SIMMS Inventory Software Version 2016 Vol 1.1 has been released

KCSI today is pleased to announce the release of SIMMS Inventory Software 2016 Vol 1.1

SIMMS Software turns your computer into an advanced inventory management and accounting software tool, giving you the ability to setup inventory items, transfer your inventory from location to location, complete sales and purchasing transactions, track serial numbers with manufacturer lot control, expiration date management, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Order Fulfillment and Replenishment, Order Picking, Remote Data collection, Barcode printing and more.

SIMMS Related Enhancements / Modifications

Accounting

Case# 9496, 9363, 9364, 8646 – We have Unified all three ways to print a check and now use same report to avoid any confusion in the future. Instead of rptCheck and rptCheckBatch the system will now only use rptCheck. 

Case#9786 – We have added the ability to assign a class to transactions and be able to report on the purchases and sales for that class. They would also like the ability to compare this information between two different date ranges per attached document case9786.pdf.

Export to Accounting

Case# 9052 – We have Added the ability to link SIMMS chart of accounts with QuickBooks chart of accounts. When exporting data from SIMMS instead of choosing which account to post to during the export, SIMMS will automatically use the account already assigned in SIMMS. 

Case# 9499 – We have added the ability to export the AP Invoice numbers for receipts, the AP Invoice number is now pushed to the Reference number field for Bills in QB.

Case# 9479 – We have added "Address 2" from the Customer/Vendor Manager when exporting vendor/customer details.

Fulfillment Manager Enhancements

Case#9309 – We have added the ability to batch print and email invoices from the Fulfillment Manager, to add this we had to add additional permissions and an email template manager, see the attached case9309.pdf. IMPORTANT !!! For existing customers where transactions reports were customized to use this new feature the transaction reports must be customized again as the report structure had to be enhanced.

General Enhancements

Case#6154 – per the attached document Case9154.pdf we have enhanced SIMMS per customer requests in the following areas;

  • We have disabled the mouse-scroll in qty/price boxes for transactions
  • We have added a sub-grid to show items on SO, Invoice, PO, item Receipt, etc.
  • We have added a new option to, SO on ‘HOLD’, the ability to select reason: ‘low stock, waiting for payment, future delivery’ to prevent shipping/invoicing.
  • We have added the Item Alias as import field in the visual import manager on SO/Invoices

Physical Count Enhancements

Case# 9088 – We have enhanced the physical count worksheet generator, so when the user selects the location drop down menu, the user can pick which locations they want from the drop down.

Reporting Enhancements

Case# 9581 – We have enhanced the Revenue vs Cost (Accounts Receivable -Report Generator), now you can select one or more customers to report on at once.

Case#9789 – We have added ability to include an item's image on the physical count worksheet.

Case#9828 – We have redesigned the customer aged detail and customer statement reports

Case# 9638 – We have enhanced the Inventory Valuation Report (Category Summary) to show the headers and sub amounts for each category that make up the grand totals.

Case#9732 – We have added a new global setting that turns on a confirmation window to confirm transactions have printed.

Sales Transaction Enhancements

Case# 9432 – When completing a sales transaction, if an item doesn’t have an item alias you can now edit the item and add the alias by clicking the edit item icon

Case# 9470 - We have fixed an issue where "When x2 or more people are processing Sales Orders, x1 or more people will receive a message to say that the “Order Number has been Incremented”. Once you click Ok, SIMMS will allow you to carry on and complete your Sales Order but when you save your Sales Order and choose “Yes” to “invoice now with no changes”; the invoice SIMMS returns is blank and the customer is that of the other person who didn’t receive the increment message. 

SIMMS2GO (Web Application)

SIMMS2GO (Web Application) Accounting Enhancements

Case# 7934 - AR Feature added – you can now process customer payments via paypal, the ability for you to email your customers invoices and have them process payment via paypal has been added to SIMMS2GO.

Case# 8636 – We have added PO Budget functionality to SIMMS2Go so if you set your purchasing budgets in SIMMS, SIMMS2Go will manage your budget limits just like in SIMMS

Case#8847 – We have added the payment tracking number to the AR & AP summary grids

Case#9471 – We have redesigned the tax schedule configuration page to be more user friendly.

SIMMS2GO (Web Application) Consignment Manager:

Case# 9668 - when disabling the "Allow Consignment" in the customer file in simms2go the system now hides the consignment tab in the customer portal. 

SIMMS2GO (Web Application) Email Template Enhancements :

Case# 8913, 9230 – We have added the ability for you to customize your email templates per transaction, indicating the default subject, body content, along with additional functionality, for more information contact KCSI Sales.

SIMMS2GO (Web Application) General Transaction Enhancements:

Case# 8957, 9323 – We have redesigned the transaction screens for a much easier, cleaner experience with SIMMS2Go

Case# 8866 – You now have the ability to upload documents and attach to your order when completing your transactions

Case#9324 – We have added additional help and guidance in various areas in the software to help you in navigation and the usability of SIMMS2Go

Case#9353 – We have added on the bottom of ALL transaction detail screens the transaction history.  

SIMMS2GO (Web Application) Maintenance Professional (Vehicle and equipment Maintenance module)

Case# 8306 – We have added a brand new module to SIMMS2Go called Maintenance Professional where you can schedule and track your equipment and vehicle maintenance. Contact KCSI sales for more information on this new and exciting addition to SIMMS2Go.

SIMMS2GO (Web Application) Permissions:

 Case# 9291 – We have enhanced SIMMS2GO to utilize the user location filters as assigned in SIMMS the following way:

  • If enable web login is enabled, then user can login to SIMMS2Go if not then they can't, (should be same flag as LOGIN Enabled found in SIMMS2Go user setup grid)
  • View inventory flag in SIMMS (as defined in details section of user permissions in SIMMS) - by default all locations are enabled for the user, so they can see items in all, however if you cherry pick specific locations then the logged in user should only see items in there assigned locations ie..
  • location grid in snap shot and snap shot report should filter out all locations with the exception of the users assigned locations
  • SIMMS2GO transactions - the user should only be able to receive to, generate orders of and sell from locations assigned to them if the filter is enabled in user permissions within simms.
  • and transactions should only show Access to the users own transactions only flag as defined in SIMMS details tab should work the same way in SIMMS2Go, where if enabled the user can only see there own transactions.

SIMMS2GO (Web Application) Reporting Enhancements :

Case# 9163 – We have added a transaction report generator should report on:

  • quotes
  • sales orders
  • invoices
  • purchase orders
  • receipt of goods
  • transfers

You also have the ability to select all vendors or customers if purchasing or sales related, or a range, all dates or a range, include items or just print summary.

Case# 8900 – We have enhanced the Serial number related reports

Case# 8905 – We have redesigned the Customer & Vendor statement reports

Case# 8906 – We have enhanced the Profit and Loss Report

Case# 8907 – We have added a new Financial Analysis Report

Case# 9097, 9362 – We have enhanced the Time and Attendance Report.

Case# 10021 – We have enhanced the user activity report

SIMMS2GO (Web Application) Tool Crib Manager:

 Case# 8643, 8894 – We have enhanced the Tool Crib Manager in various areas, including better serial number / lot control and reporting what the user currently has checked out in the items checked out panel.

SIMMS2GO (Web Application) Transfer Manager Enhancements

Case# 9293 – We have added an option to hide the transfer all icon from the transfer screen, the option will be visible by default, to disable we have added a new setting in miscellaneous "Hide [Transfer All Items] button from transfer detail.

Transfer Manager Enhancements

Case# 9460 – We have added the document number column to the transfer manager.

  • To upgrade or install SIMMS 2016, proceed to http://setup.kcsi.ca 
  • Make sure you backup your SIMMS database prior to upgrading
  • Consider scheduling a short training session;

SIMMS Version 2016 is easier to use, with the enhancement and addition of many features to make your SIMMS experience quicker, more detailed and more accurate.

We feel that your first experience with the new look and feel should be in a training scenario, which will allow you the time to get comfortable with any changes to SIMMS usage and function that may have changed.

Options
