SIMMS Inventory Software Version 2015 Vol 1.2 has been released

KCSI today is pleased to announce the release of SIMMS Inventory Software 2015 Vol 1.2

SIMMS Software turns your computer into an advanced inventory management and accounting software tool, giving you the ability to setup inventory items, transfer your inventory from location to location, complete sales and purchasing transactions, track serial numbers with manufacturer lot control, expiration date management, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Order Fulfillment and Replenishment, Order Picking, Remote Data collection, Barcode printing and more. 

Kornyk Computer Solutions International, Inc. (KCSI) is located in the Vancouver suburb of Abbotsford in British Columbia, Canada. Since 1996 we have evolved into a global Software solution provider and programming house that develops and integrates business inventory management and accounting applications.

SIMMS Related Enhancements / Modifications

Accounting

Case# 8610 -  We have fixed an issue where when completing a Manual Credit Memo - negative receipt, the transaction was not showing in the Vendor Aged Detail report

Apparel

Case# 8510 – We have fixed an issue where under some conditions In the Apparel Cost/Price window, the colour and size do not appear in the list if All Styles is selected.

Commission Manager

Case# 8506 -  We have added the AR comment entered to the adjust commission window.

General Enhancements

Case# 8558 – We have fixed an issue where when attempting to copy user rights from one user to the other the system at times would generate an error.

Case# 8591 – We have enhanced the email field in the customer manager to allow the addition of more then one email address by separating with a “,” or “;”

Case# 8557 We have fixed an issue where the incremental number for custom order numbering when dates were used in the formula were not resetting to every day.

General Ledger

Case# 5970 – Now we display the GL account description along with the account code when selecting from a drop down list 

Item Management Enhancements

Case# 8451 – We have added the ability to tag serialized items with options and search for items with specific options per doc Case#8451.pdf attached.

Kitting (BOM)

Case# 8732 – We have fixed an issue where kit components were listing on quotes even if the setting to display kit components in global settings was off.

Serial number management

Case# 8445 – We have fixed an issue found when transferring serialized items from location to location.

Service and Returns (RMA / RTV)

Case# 6646 - When creating a RMAIN (Item return) we have added the ability to attach documents & images to the transaction.


SIMMS2Go Web-Application Related Enhancements / Modifications

Accounting enhancements

Case# 8427 – we have added the ability to have the system auto calculate interest on outstanding balances based on terms assigned to your customers. 

Contact Management enhancements

Case# 8562 – We have added the ability to search for contacts by contact person

General enhancements

Case# 8672 – In the Settings menu, we have added a new E-mail settings section for you to enter your companies SMTP email information in order for you to utilize your own email service provider.

Case# 8715 – We have added the ability to copy user permissions from one user to another, in order to speed up the user permission assignment process.

Case#8622 – We have replaced the graphs on the main page with new objects that give you more control over the data displayed.

Transaction enhancements

Case# 8736 We have fixed an issue where freight entered in a quote or sales order wasn’t importing into the invoice under some conditions.

Case 8580, 8746, 8666 – We have enhanced the transaction screens and made them much faster by making the following changes; 

  • Quotes: 
    • Adding inventory items – once the customer is selected in the header click the + Add Inventory Item button, a pop up will appear listing your inventory items, select each item you wish to add to the quote by placing a check mark to the left of the desired item, then once done click insert item all items you have selected will now appear in the grid for you to modify the comment qty and sales price for.
    • Adding charges – once the customer is selected in the header click the + Add Charge button, a pop up will appear listing your configured charges, select each charge you wish to add to the quote by placing a check mark to the left of the desired charge, then once done click insert charge, all charges you have selected will now appear in the grid for you to modify the comment qty and sales price for.
  • Sales orders & Invoices: 
    • Adding inventory items – once the customer is selected in the header click the + Add Inventory Item button, a pop up will appear listing your inventory items along with qty on hand, select each item you wish to add to the order by clicking the arrow to the left of the item, causing the system to display the breakdown of quantities you have in each location for the selected item, now place a check mark to the left of the desired item & location, then once done click insert item all items you have selected will now appear in the grid for you to modify the comment qty and sales price for.
    • Swapping item locations after importing from quote or sales order – once you have imported your quote or sales order into the working document you can modify the location used for a line item by double clicking the line item, and selecting the alternate item location to be used from the pop up.
    • Adding charges – once the customer is selected in the header click the + Add Charge button, a pop up will appear listing your configured charges, select each charge you wish to add to the order by placing a check mark to the left of the desired charge, then once done click insert charge, all charges you have selected will now appear in the grid for you to modify the comment qty and sales price for.
  • Purchase orders & Receipt of goods: 
    • Adding inventory items – once the vendor is selected in the header, click the + Add Inventory Item button, a pop up will appear listing your configured items along with qty on hand, select each item you wish to add to the order by placing a check mark to the left of the desired item, then once done click insert item, all items you have selected will now appear in the grid for you to modify the comment, qty, location and purchase cost for.
    • Adding charges – once the vendor is selected in the header, click the + Add Charge button, a pop up will appear listing your configured charges, select each charge you wish to add to the order by placing a check mark to the left of the desired charge, then once done click insert charge, all charges you have selected will now appear in the grid for you to modify the comment qty and purchase cost for.

Reporting enhancements

Case# 8223 - We have replaced all Crystal reports with web reports for better compatibility with all operating systems and browsers.

Case# 8587 – We have re-designed the Item sales report

Case# 8586 – We have re-designed the payments collected report

Case #8472 – We have fixed an issue with the expense by category report where it wasn’t reporting all expenses entered.

Case# 7930 – We have added several new reports and report generators found under the reports menu, from financial analysis reports through to Item valuation reports now you really have all of the information you require at your fingertips.

  • To upgrade or install SIMMS 2015, proceed to http://setup.kcsi.ca 
  • Make sure you backup your SIMMS database prior to upgrading
  • Consider scheduling a short training session;


SIMMS Version 2015 is easier to use, with the enhancement and addition of many features to make your SIMMS experience quicker, more detailed and more accurate.

We feel that your first experience with the new look and feel should be in a training scenario, which will allow you the time to get comfortable with any changes to SIMMS usage and function that may have changed.

Therefore, we have put together affordable 2, 4 and 8 hour online training courses designed to bring you up to speed key enhancements made in order to assure your SIMMS 2014 experience is a good one.
